The Freckles on Your Nose

I could write epic poems about the freckles on your nose.

The slight tint of grey in your eyes.

The way your lip curves ever so gently when you smile.

I’ve composed endless love songs about your reflection in my glasses, for there is no sight more perfect.

There is a sonnet in my head about the tick-tick-tick of your heartbeat.

And the way you pronounce my name.

I could write a haiku about the cadence of your voice alone.

You echo in my head and in the chambers of my heart.

And when you’re not around, I think of those little things.

Those little things that make you perfect.
